ABOUT About what makes CT Laboratories different... Experience cannot be overlooked. CT Laboratories LLC has been in business since 1987. We are located in the heart of the Baraboo Bluffs in Baraboo, WI. The lab was started back in the eighties as an off-shoot of the engineering firm Mid-States Associates. Today, we are locally owned and continue to grow. We are always increasing our capabilities and the locations we serve. CT Laboratories' staff is comprised of dedicated, long-term employees. Our Project Managers. CT Laboratories firmly believes that communication is the key to every successful project. We will assign an experienced chemist as a dedicated Project Manager to handle all your needs. They can provide information for inclusion in your QAPP and can meet with you up front to discuss the project, making sure all questions and scenarios are discussed before the work arrives. Your PM will input your project-specific requirements (special compounds, reporting limits, action levels or report formats) into our LIMS. When the work arrives at the lab, you will be notified that the samples arrived safely and of their condition. Any problems, you will be notified immediately. Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs) CT Laboratories is a strong proponent of electronic data deliverables (EDDs) to reduce the time required to provide our clients with their data, while providing great flexibility in how the data are used. We are also capable of electronically providing laboratory data to third parties, such as regulatory agencies, at the client’s request. Because we have the capability to send clients data and reports electronically, we have become virtually paperless in this area at CT Laboratories. We are keenly aware of the need to protect each client’s data from unauthorized access. CT Laboratories has a number of mechanisms in place to limit both internal and external data access to those parties that are authorized by the client or play a vital role in preparing, processing, or transmitting the data. CT Laboratories also has the ability to encrypt each EDD set using a number of protective schemes, including each application’s native password protection or commercial products, such as WinZip. Our electronic version of the Level IV validation package has been enthusiastically received by our clients, reducing or eliminating the need for shipping and storing multi-ream paper reports. Specialty Testing In addition to our routine analytical capabilities, CT Laboratories LLC offers specialty testing services and can help develop new procedures to suit your needs. These analyses support various environmental regulatory programs, including: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) Superfund Clean Water Act (CWA) National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) Federal Program Support: Army Corps, National Guard, Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force Various State Regulatory Programs: Underground Storage Tank (UST), Landfill Monitoring, etc. Total, Fine and Coarse Lead by MDEQ SOP 213 This procedure is typically performed for EPA projects in order to characterize the lead fractionation of the soil (i.e., the fine & coarse fractions). The Michigan Lead procedure involves sieving an air-dried soil sample into the coarse fraction (particle size > 250-µm) and the fine fraction (particle size < 250-µm). The % coarse and % fine values are determined via calculation. The coarse and fine fractions are then analyzed for lead via EPA 6010C. Finally, the total lead concentration is calculated via a weighted average of the coarse lead fraction and the fine lead fraction. Tissue Analysis: Pesticides, PCBs, Metals, Percent Lipids These internal methods are not certified by our accreditation agencies. These internal methods have been developed to fulfill client-specific needs and projects. Thiodiglycol and other Chemical Warfare Agent degradation products This method is designed to follow procedures developed in-house and to meet the requirements of EPA SW-846 method 8000 for ground water, surface water, and waste water. A UPLC is employed in conjunction with a UV detector. Flame Retardants: PBB, HBB This method is designed to follow procedures and QC requirements found in EPA SW-846 method 8081B in order to determine quantities of HBB and PBB compounds found in a variety of sample matrices. HBB - Hexabromobenzene PBB - Firemaster BP-6 2,4- and 4,4- DDD, DDE, and DDT Breakdown products of DDT can be quantified using the 8081B methodology for pesticides. 1,4-Dioxane by 8270-SIM A Solid Phase Extraction methodology was developed for liquid samples using 8270D/E guidelines. The internal soil extraction method references 8000D. Invitro Bioaccessibility (IVBA) of Lead Internal method PR009 developed at request of EPA using SW846 1340 as a reference.
